Ballymore seeks joint venture for £2bn London residential project

Property investment and development company Ballymore has announced plans to establish joint venture to deliver its £2bn London Residential pipeline.

3,000 new residential units and 250,000 sq.ft if commercial, leisure and office space are planned, across three sites in Canary Wharf, the Leamouth Peninsula and Nine Elms. The schemes have an overall gross development value of approximately £2bn.

Arrowhead Quay, Canary Wharf:
– Planned development of two towers of 50 and 55 storeys
– 990 residential units adjacent to Canary Wharf
– Retail, leisure and café facilities in a landscaped, public plaza

London City Island Phase II, Leamouth Peninsula
– 1,145 premium residential units

Embassy Gardens Phase II, Nine Elms
– 870 residential units
– Retail, leisure and office facilities
– Close to the US Embassy and Linear Park.

Ballymore’s Chief Executive, Sean Mulryan, said,

Contractors wanted for LHC New Homes Framework

Public sector procurement consortium LHC is seeking contractors involved in the design, manufacture, supply and erection of offsite building systems for social housing for a its New Homes framework.

The New Homes framework of key off-site homes suppliers for housing associations and council clients in England, Wales and Scotland will launch later this year.

The framework will be divided into eight lots and two work streams – volumetric build and panelised systems – providing clients with flexible choices in regards to design, transportation, site access, projects in planning and integration with existing build programmes.

Tenders will be weighted 70% on quality and 30% price. A key focus will be placed on project management, product quality and compliance with relevant funding bodies and technical regulation.

£9m House of Commons refurbishment project

£9m House of Commons refurbishment project

Contractors are sought for a £9m project to refurbish part of the House of Commons.

The Grade II listed building at 1 Canon Row will be “will be brought up to a standard suitable for use as office accommodation and also fulfil Parliaments’ public duty of care to maintain the architectural and historical significance of the building.”

Works will include the replacement of mechanical and electrical services, the insertion or alteration of interior walls and doorways, external and internal repairs and full redecoration. A key part of the project is the insertion of a lift and stair core.

The contract notice can be viewed here on the Ted website, and firms have until June 10 to register their interest on the Parliament UK online tender portal.
